Deanne A. Blach, MSN, RN, CNE, NPD-BC, President of DB Productions, has been organizing nursing continuing education conferences for 20 years on a regional and national level. She obtained her BSN from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and an MSN from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Her nursing foundation was built in critical care including surgical and cardiovascular ICU and she was a CCRN for many years. As a nurse educator and expertise in concept mapping, Deanne also teaches about using concept mapping in nursing education as an active learning strategy to help students make connections.
Barb Bancroft RN, MSN, PNP, is a widely acclaimed national speaker, noted for her humorous, entertaining and information packed seminars. She is author of the books Medical Minutiae, An Apple a Day—the ABCs of Diet and Disease and Live a Little, Laugh a Lot. Many people can conduct health seminars, or write books on health, but very few can make them both thoroughly informative and entertaining. Barb Bancroft makes complex health topics easily understandable, appealing and hilarious.
Monica C. Speak, AAS, has a background in information technology and data management and has been involved in nursing continuing education for over 10 years on regional and national programs. She is the coordinator of operations management for DB Productions.
Donna ”Iggy” Ignatavicius, has been a leading nursing education consultant and speaker for national, state, and local conferences for over 20 years. She has taught in all levels of undergraduate nursing programs and is currently an expert in curriculum development and evaluation. With Dr. Linda Silvestri, Iggy is a consultant for Elsevier to assist them with incorporating NGN into their products. Iggy’s two Developing Clinical Judgment workbooks—one for RN and one for PN/VN—were recently published to help students practice clinical judgment skills in preparation for the NGN. Iggy is certified as an Academic Nurse Educator and as a Clinical Academic Nurse Educator and was inducted as a fellow into the Academy of Nursing Education in 2007.
Davey has a background in farm/ranch management with an enthusiasm for serving others that attendees can appreciate. His expertise and life experience make him a great team member as he assists DB Productions with conference preparation, the registration process, and event facilitation. His role continues to evolve as he immerses himself in the organization and management of conference planning.
Michele Deck has presented nationally and internationally on innovative teaching methods in the field of health care education and training for over 35 years. She is the recipient of many honors and awards for her creativity, innovation, productivity and exemplary leadership qualities. Honors include Association of Nurses in Professional Development (ANPD) prestigious Belinda E. Puetz Award, election to Sigma (formerly called Sigma Theta Tau) National Nursing Honor Society, and Business Woman of the Year by the National Business Council. She is co-founder and chief executive officer of G.A.M.E.S., a company that specializes in seminars on adult learning and interactive training methods, and Tool Thyme for Trainers, a company which supplies innovative and creative presentation tools for educators worldwide. She has authored twelve books on creative and involving ways to teach adults. She is a past president of Lamaze International and Accreditation Chair. She served on ANPD’s Education committee and was a member of the Editorial board of the Journal For Nurses in Professional Development for 8 years.
